Ryan McManus is a board director and operating partner focused on enterprise value creation in the AI-driven economy. He is the founder of techtonic.io, where he works with boards, CEOs, and private equity investors on high-stakes decisions involving strategy, governance, operating models, and AI-enabled transformation.

Ryan currently serves on the board of Nortech Systems, where he is the founding Chair of the Science & Technology Committee. He is President of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) New York Chapter and serves on the advisory boards of Limbik AI and ArcticBlue AI. He is Chair Emeritus of the children’s nonprofit EMPOWER and previously served as founding Chair of the Board of Advisors for Columbia Business School’s Think Bigger Technology & Innovation Hub.

Previously, Ryan was Chief Operating Officer of Accenture Strategy’s global business and founded Accenture’s Digital Transformation practice, scaling it from inception into a $1B global business. Across his career, he has built and operated large-scale enterprises, led complex global organizations, and worked closely with private equity firms, technology platforms, and growth-stage companies.

Ryan has worked directly with more than 15,000 senior executives and board directors across 80+ countries, advising organizations representing over $4 trillion in market capitalization. His work focuses on translating emerging technologies into durable enterprise value, stronger governance, and improved execution at scale.

He is a widely published author on AI, digital transformation, and governance, with work appearing in Harvard Business Review, The Economist, and NACD Directorship. His Harvard Business Review article on digital transformation has been recognized as one of the top 10 HBR articles ever published on the subject.

Ryan is the founding Chair of the NACD’s National Technology & Governance Advisory Board. In 2023, he was named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Corporate Directors in the United States by the NACD and selected as one of 24 commissioners for NACD’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Technology and Governance.

Ryan holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is frequently invited by boards, investors and executive programs worldwide to lead sessions on AI, strategy, and governance.
